✦ What is DLC Couture?

I’m Dalynnja de Klerk, the designer behind DLC Couture—a one-woman fashion label based in the Netherlands. I design and create vintage-inspired garments with a love for beautiful silhouettes, thoughtful details, and the art of dressing beautifully.

Each piece is created by me in my atelier, inspired by the elegance of past decades and made for those who appreciate individuality, personal style, and garments created with care.

✦ How does ordering work?

Every DLC Couture garment is made after your order is placed. This allows me to carefully create each piece with purpose, avoiding unnecessary production while giving every garment the attention it deserves.

You can order using a standard size or request small adjustments such as waist or hem length.

For Made-to-Measure garments, I create your piece according to your personal measurements.

Fully custom Made-to-Order designs begin from the very first idea, with the silhouette, details, and construction developed especially for you. Prices shown on the website are starting prices and exclude VAT. After your consultation, I will provide a full quotation including all applicable costs.

✦ Can I order a made to measure garment?

Yes. With the Made-to-Measure option, I adjust an existing design to your individual measurements to create a more personalised fit. After choosing your design, you can complete the measurement form, and I will use your measurements to carefully adapt the garment. An additional fee applies for this service.

✦ What sizes are available?

My standard size range is XXS (EU 32) to XXL (EU 44). If your measurements fall between sizes, or you would like a small adjustment such as a different waist or hem length, you can leave a note at checkout. ✦ How do I take my measurements?

Accurate measurements are important for creating a beautiful fit. You can find step-by-step instructions on the Submit Your Measurements page. For the most accurate results, I recommend wearing the undergarments you plan to wear with your garment and asking someone to help you take your measurements.

✦ How long does it take to make my garment?

Because every piece is made by hand after your order is placed, please allow approximately 3–5 weeks for production. More complex designs or custom pieces may require additional time. Each garment is carefully created in my atelier, allowing me to give attention to every detail throughout the process.

✦ Do you ship internationally?

Yes. I ship DLC Couture pieces worldwide from my atelier in the Netherlands. Shipping costs and delivery times depend on your location. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive tracking information. You can find more details on the Delivery Time & Shipping Costs page.

✦ Can I return or exchange a custom piece?

Because every made-to-order, made-to-measure, and customised garment is created specifically for you, returns and exchanges are not possible. However, if there is an issue with your order or something does not feel quite right, please contact me. I will always do my best to find a suitable solution.

✦ Do you accept custom design requests?

Absolutely. If you have a vision for a dress, gown, or vintage-inspired garment that does not exist yet, I would love to hear your ideas. Whether you have sketches, inspiration images, or simply an idea of how you want to feel in the garment, we can explore the possibilities together. ✦ Where is DLC Couture based?

I design and create every DLC Couture garment in my atelier in the Netherlands. From developing collections to creating custom pieces, every part of the process is personally handled by me.

✦ Are your pieces ethically made?

Yes, 100%. I believe in creating garments with purpose rather than producing large quantities. By making each piece after it is ordered, I can work more consciously with materials, reduce unnecessary waste, and focus on creating garments that are made with care.

✦ What’s the difference between Made to Measure and Made to order?

Made-to-Measure starts with an existing DLC Couture design that is adjusted to your personal measurements for a more customised fit.

Made-to-Order (fully custom) begins from scratch. The design, silhouette, and details are developed specifically around your vision and preferences.

Most DLC Couture orders follow the Made-to-Measure route, but fully custom designs are available upon request.

✦ Can I bring my own fabric?

Yes, in some cases. If you have a special fabric you would love to use, you are welcome to contact me. Please share details such as the fabric type, weight, and drape so I can determine whether it is suitable for your chosen design.

✦ What about sustainability?

My approach to DLC Couture is based on mindful production:

Garments are created after an order is placed

Each piece is made slowly rather than mass-produced
Designs are created with longevity and personal connection in mind

✦ What payment methods are available?

✦ My country isn’t listed at checkout. Can I still place an order?

Yes. If your country is not available at checkout, please send me a message and I will look into the best shipping option for you. I ship internationally whenever possible and am happy to help arrange a solution.

✦ Will I have to pay customs duties, taxes, or import fees?

Possibly. Import fees, customs duties, and taxes vary by country and are not included in your order total. These charges are set by your national customs office and are the buyer’s responsibility.

If you think your fees were calculated incorrectly, you have the legal right to request a detailed invoice from your local customs authority or delivery service. They may be able to clarify or even refund excess charges.
